Which type of drill is used for Deep Hole Drilling

Deep hole drilling typically uses specialized deep hole bits that are designed to work holes that are much deeper than their diameter. There are several types of deep hole drill bits:

Welded deep hole drill: The blade of this drill is welded directly on the drill pipe, non-replaceable, one-time use. Suitable for specific deep hole machining tasks, but not for situations where the blade needs to be changed frequently.

Machine deep hole drill: In contrast to the welded type, the blade of the machine deep hole drill is interchangeable, the cutter body can be used permanently, and the blade can be replaced after wear, improving economy and flexibility.

Deep Hole Drilling Machine with internal chip discharge: This kind of drill is designed with internal channels to discharge chips through the drill pipe during drilling to ensure effective chip discharge during deep hole processing, which is divided into BTA (single pipe chip discharge), jet drilling (double pipe chip discharge) and DF system (high pressure internal chip discharge).

The type of deep hole drill you choose depends on your specific machining needs, including hole diameter, depth, material type, machine capacity, and chip removal conditions.
