1.The design of the SRB tool includes the following advantages:

Very firm U-shaped insertion of the insert forms a good positioning;

A special automatic retraction mechanism for the boring tool ensures that the machined surface is not touched during the tumbling process;

Minimized machine power and feed forces because the boring and rolling processes are separated;

Because of the separation of the boring and rolling processes, optimum cutting and feed speeds can be used for both boring and rolling.

2. Boring operation:

When the SRB Tool passes through the workpiece, two thin chips are cut off at a high speed of (1-4 mm/revolution), the cutting process determines the final diameter and dimensional tolerances of the cylinder barrel, the surface roughness of the cylinder barrel by boring is R=4-10μm;

3. Tumbling operation:

Rolling operates on a return direction feed, producing plastic deformation and providing a polished surface of R=0.05-0.20μm, which is better than the surface of a broached hole, a ground hole, or even a honed hole. Surface hardness increases by nearly 50% (steel workpiece).

4. Applications:

Industry: Skiving roller burnishing is commonly used in industries such as automotive, hydraulics, and aerospace.

Components: It is often applied to components like hydraulic cylinders, piston rods, and other cylindrical parts where a high-quality surface finish and precise dimensions are critical.
